Lakeside Garden

This family garden is created on three levels. The terrace and entertaining area encircle the new extension, reflecting the curves and straight lines of the house. A low curved wall with perennial planting creates a backdrop to the dining area that arcs around to a small upper lawn and planting.

Curved steps lead down, from the terrace, to the middle and main lawn which is split into two distinct areas. To the left, the lawn looks out on a broad shady border with existing trees. This border will be mainly shrubs and shade loving plants creating year round interest. To the right the lawn opens up to the existing decking, with a retaining wall to the back of the lawn. This lawn also leads to a small set of curved steps with a wild flower slope, which leads to the lower lawn and steps to the lake.

The lower lawn is bordered with lush planting of bamboos, ferns and other architectural plants. This planting is incorporated into steps and seating terrace which lead to the trampoline area and back up to the terrace.
